Overview:

This seminar will introduce attendees to the less-well-known behaviours of IV pumps, which can create problems for caregivers. Some solutions for current day pumps will be discussed. Ben will introduce a novel improved infusion pump design, which addresses many of the limitations of current-day pump designs.

 

Biography:

Bob is a biomedical electronis engineer with 35 years of industry and 10 yers of hospital experience in the application and detailed design and testing of infusion pumps around the world. He has received numerous awards including AAMI Clinical Solutions Innovator of the Year, Becton Dickinson's WJ Howe Lifetime Achievement Award and many others. He has been awarded over 65 patents in the infusion and vital signs domain, which are assigned to Becton-Dickinson. He is very active currently in standards development and serves as a consultant to engineering programs local universities.

 

Ben has a background in Mechanical and Systems Engineering. He spent the last 18 years designing products that solve technological problems in the medical device industry. At Ivenix, Ben has led the development of an innovative fluid delivery platform to address challenges in infusion delivery.
